Time to get along.....
There have been a few postings lately,
about getting the Squabbling in the County Commission under control,
and getting more County Unity going. Well, it's about time. This
stuff has lingered on WAY too long. It's time it ended. Time some
folks act mature, do the job they were ELECTED to do, and stop the
foolishness. There is work to be done. Serious stuff, not the petty
nonsense that keeps being thrown around. If some are not up to acting
like adults, there's the door, resign, and don't let it hit you in
the backsides on the way out! The General population is tired of the
games.
Teamwork and Co-operation.
Seems there's been some trouble in this
area. Let me throw out an example of how this might be accomplished,
using current events. One Commissioner has found some revenue can be
gotten, by selling to tire recappers, retreadable casings. Fine. Good
deal. So, how does one present this.. the person who is interested in
doing his job, would most likely say to his colleagues …..
“ I've found a way to pull in some
extra revenue by re-cycling retreadable tire casings. We could expect
to collect and save $XXX dollars a year, on average. Here's the
projected numbers... what do you think???”
Intelligent, pointed, factual..
businesslike. Team oriented... Isn't this what most of YOU would do,
if you discovered something worthwhile?? How you'd bring the
“discovery” to your fellow committee members??? School boards,
Church groups, the PTA etc... isn't that how YOU do things??
Well, that's NOT what we've got.
Instead of co-operative teamwork, we've gotten what pretty well
compares to a “Barroom brawl” going on. One comes in, makes a lot
of wild accusations, insults, unfounded charges of illegal activity
(truth be known, it looks like the accuser may have stepped out of
legal bounds TWICE that I can see himself in all of this)..
corruption etc... seems its being made to look like a “Watergate”
conspiracy!! Several people, in several departments accused of not
doing their jobs right, not doing paperwork right, improper this,
improper that.... and then accuses those being accused... of not
wanting to work along! Stonewalling etc... um, If I go in, attack,
insult, pick a fight, etc.... I'm smart enough to realize, I'm not
going to get very far asking the guys I just slapped around, to do
what I want!!! Um, maybe a course in how to get along with others,
teamwork, etc, might be in order!! This is NOT going to get the
Counties Business done!! So a word to the wise.... lets all just
settle down, and do your JOB!! If you're not capable.... make room
for someone who WILL!! Your Constituents DESERVE better, give it to
them. One way, or the other.

You want us to all get along and be one happy family.
In the next breath you have to add a stick to the fire not a log you know just a little jab.
I am referring to tiregate. Anyone with a half a brain knows whats behind that. We don't have to be reminded weekly. give us some credit. Let things cool down. WE GET IT!
Its dirty politics nothing more nothing less.
If you really want to get along quit stocking the fire.
Another example is you and Brian can't type two word and your fighting like siblings in there back yard.
Its been this way in sports politics you name it. What I am saying its more of a competition than anything else. Chamois and Linn enjoys the same situation.
Enjoy may not be the right word .
What I think we always need is a presiding commissioner that looks both North and South and keeps the whole county in mind. Right now I do not know who that is. I will say this, Miskel better watch who he keeps company with.
Hank you aught to live west of the Gasconade river in Gasconade county that's another story.
Its hard to get the time of day over here.
Some will make there journey over here this summer its time to put there signs in the yard.
Pretty lonely over here the rest of the year if yo know what I mean.

It may look like a jab.. but I felt it a PERFECT illustration!!! And no, there's no "hand holding"... and no, it is NOT sane to expect everyone, to get along, on every issue. That said, I think we have the right to DEMAND our reps represent US, and not some "other" ideal ( or plug in whatever word you choose to here).... they are there to conduct County Biz.... and that's all. NOT "Monkey Business"!! LOL!! And that's one thing we've seen too much of.... in the case I used above as an example, drop your "jab" thought for a minute.... and simply answer, "was he right"?? Was there a way this SHOULD have been presented, to get an issue dealt with?? And not done in a way to all but insure another "issue"???? Honey?? or VINEGAR??
And, there are always going to be differing views. It's how you HANDLE them, that determines what and where we'll go.
I'll ask you, in the context of "working with what we have now".... what would YOU suggest be done, to get some simple progress from this 3 we have on the Commission now?? What needs to be said, who needs to do what, to simply function as the Commission is intended to. Elections are a ways off, we are HERE, NOW!! So, WHAT do we do?? or more to the point, what do THEY need to do????
